The very beautiful and sexy French actress Claudine Auger played the character of Domino Derval in the 1965 film Thunderball, the fourth instalment in the official James Bond 007 franchise. Claudine was Miss France in 1958 and was also first runner-up in the Miss World contest of the same year.
Although clearly very beautiful, Domino did not make my Definitive Top 10 Bond Girls list as her score fell down on character. She scored highly for hotness and impact, but her character was fairly weak compared to the many other strong Bond Girls such as Pussy Galore, Vesper Lynd and Fiona Volpe (who also starred in the film). Although she can speak English, her voice was actually dubbed in Thunderball by Nikki van der Zyl (who also dubbed many other of the Bond Girls, including Honey Ryder in Dr No).
Claudine went on to have a prolific career in European cinema and in 1971 starred with future Bond Girl Barbara Bach (Triple X/Anya Amasova in 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me) in the Italian horror film Black Belly of the Tarantula.
